Trading Company, manufactures of bakery products to meet the needs of
today’s dynamic global marketplace.
Caravan was founded in 1975 by Joe Maroun
and his wife Carmen in Redwood City, California. From their small
bakery and deli beginnings Caravan has grown into a major force in
the bakery industry, producing products for some of the largest and
most respected retailers and manufactures in the food industry.
Caravan has two major
in-house brands. Our
Pangea brand, is a broad line of bakery items including frozen cake
items and a full line of frozen Danish, puff pastry products, and
croissants. Caravan's other brand
Mi Colonia is a full line of
authentic Hispanic bakery products in a variety of packaging
configurations.
Caravan Trading Company has also developed extensive
knowledge in extended shelf-life bakery products. We have developed
and provide both MRE and UGR combat rations to the United States
Military for the past seven years. We supply many customers in the
country with baked goods for use in the combat and training feeding
programs. In response to increasing disaster awareness and the need
for preparedness, we recently developed the
Ready-To-Go Emergency Food Pack. It is a self
contained, ready-to-serve supply of food and water for one person
for 3 days.
Caravan owns and operates a 108,000 sqft
bakery located in Union City, California. Caravan has
extensive R&D and the resources to work with retailers and
foodservice operators to explore new opportunities for an ever
changing marketplace.
